Continuous Professional Development (CPD)


Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is a great way for teachers to up skill and enhance their CVs. Below is a list of useful Professional Development websites which offer a variety of courses for teachers.


Cambridge International Examinations offer CPD training in the Cambridge Curriculum, both online and face-to-face. The availability of face-to-face courses worldwide make it easier for International Teachers to find one near them. Cambridge offer courses in: Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Secondary, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS and A Level, as well as Cambridge PU. 

They offer a number of different training and Professional Development courses for teachers, from Introductory Training to Extension Training and Enrichment Professional Development.



Pearson (UK's largest awarding body) offer face-to-face and online training events for Teachers who are already teaching or are interested in teaching BTEC, Edexcel, LCCI or EDI courses.

Tes Institut

Tes institut offers courses for both perspective and experienced teachers.

Advanced Placement (AP)

The AP Teacher Training Institute (APTTI) provides comprehensive preparation for developing and teaching an AP course. In addition to discussing questions about AP subject-area content, teachers will receive an overview of the Advanced Placement Program. 


Access to International Baccalaureate (IB) Professional Development is one of the key benefits of becoming an IB World School. However, IB also offer Professional Development opportunites for non-IB schools. IB hold various workshops and conferences, both online and face-to-face.


The National STEM Learning Centre offer teachers high quality (often free) online professional development training in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) .


AAIE is a community organization that partners with educational institutions and associations worldwide to exchange International ideas and research that help develop and improve International Education and School Leadership.


NESA’s mission is to support sustained, systemic school improvement by offering high-quality professional learning opportunities. Each year, NESA organises two conferences and two intensive training institutes where education experts at the top of their profession lead in-depth, interactive workshops.


One of the services EARCOS provides to its member schools throughout the year is the sponsorship of two-day workshops and institutes for faculty and administration. The topics of these workshops are determined according to the needs of members. Workshops are hosted by EARCOS schools.

The Teacher Training Center for International School Educators (TTC) provides training in instructional and assessment strategies, uniquely tailored to the needs of educators working in the International School environment.


ITTA (Australia)

The International Teacher Training Academy is a nationally recognised training organisation who specialise in face-to-face, distance delivery and RPL for TAE courses, Management courses and Language, Literacy and Numeracy.
